BroadBased Communications Creates International Marketing Campaign

BroadBased Communications, Inc. of Jacksonville has been selected to produce a comprehensive international marketing and corporate identity campaign for a growing Jacksonville manufacturer.

The 2002 campaign for G.H. Stenner & Co., Inc. encompasses a new corporate logo, direct mail, point-of-purchase, print advertising, website and CD-ROM materials, as well as media kits, catalogues, product specification sheets and installation and maintenance manuals and videos.

Stenner manufactures a complete line of chemical feeder pumps that are preferred by water treatment professionals for their reliability and ease of maintenance. Stenner markets its products throughout the United States and internationally for a broad range of uses, from commercial swimming pools to municipal water treatment plants. BroadBased is producing Stenner marketing materials in English, German, French and Spanish.

“We're excited to be part of the Stenner team for this major marketing campaign and corporate identity makeover,” said Jan Korb, BroadBased president. “Stenner is an exceptional company whose quality is evident in both the loyalty of its customers and the dedication of its employees. Our objective has been to convey the company’s commitment to quality, technology and customer service through a vibrant, informative marketing effort that continues to increase Stenner's market share.

“One element of the campaign is Pumpy the Cat, a BroadBased creation that Stenner has adopted as an educational mascot for customers. Pumpy is enhancing Stenner’s emphasis on customer service through the creative dissemination of information on proper product installation, maintenance and applications.

“We're a company that’s nearly 50 years old, yet we have a very dynamic approach to growth and customer service,” said Tim Ware, Stenner president. “We wanted a corporate look and business-to-business marketing materials that would directly connect who we are with what our customers need. BroadBased has shown us that they're able to deliver a campaign that’s both creative and customer focused.

BroadBased Communications Celebrates Bigger, Bolder Presence

BroadBased Communications, Inc., celebrated the end of a months-long expansion project last week. Employees joined company founder Jan Korb in a lively reception for friends and clients in their sleek new digs in the downtown Riverplace Tower overlooking the St. Johns River.

Over chilled drinks and sumptuous hors d'oeuvres, nearly 70 representatives from some of Jacksonville’s most well-established businesses, along with up-and-comers and local media, browsed the new conference area, waiting room and office cubicles. BroadBased employees, friends and family played escort, showing off the firm's expanded design and marketing communications space.

BroadBased introduced its new web site at the Thursday afternoon event, and guests were given carte blanche to browse through its design-intensive pages. Conducting virtual tours of www.bbased.com were the site developers, Rick Lee and Chris McFall from Form Creative, who will partner with BroadBased in future web design and development projects.

“Jacksonville has been a wonderful city in which to grow this business,” said Jan Korb, president of BroadBased Communications. “We appreciate the interaction with our business friends throughout the region, and we wanted to include them in our celebration. I can't think of a better way to do that than with good food, good drinks, and the company of all these wonderfully competent people.”

Rounding out the guest list were the firm's familiar mascots, Snowball and Minerva. Catering was provided by Kaiser Enterprises, Inc.

BroadBased Communications Scores Among Top 10 in Jacksonville

BroadBased Communications, the five-year-old company of Ringling School of Art & Design alumna Jan Gaunder Korb, was named among Jacksonville's top 10 marketing communications firms by the Jacksonville Business Journal in February.

Widely recognized for its excellence in design, BroadBased Communications has expanded its scope in recent years to encompass a full range of marketing support functions. Korb’s entry into the Jacksonville market came in 1996 as she founded BroadBased Communications to support the fledgling company's primary client, Jacksonville Woman magazine. Her reputation grew primarily through word of mouth, and today the firm supports more than 30 active accounts including corporate giants with headquarters in Jacksonville, growing businesses, area colleges and city and state agencies.

2001 will be a year of profound change for the company. Renovations are under way to double BroadBased Communications' space; the newly expanded suite will accommodate a larger meeting space and additional design modules. New staff members will be added to the existing team, which now includes specialists in design, illustration and marketing communications.

Communications Firm Helps Boost Multicultural Tourism

The Jacksonville and the Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau chose BroadBased Communications, Inc. as their partner in the design and planning of the new cultural celebrations guide and planner as part of their effort to attract multicultural non-business travelers to the greater Jacksonville region. Florida’s First Coast has much to offer to visitors of all backgrounds: That's a central theme of the Jacksonville and the Beaches CVB and the impetus behind their recent publication Passages Getaways!

"It was a privilege to work on the campaign with the CVB," said Jan Korb, president of BroadBased Communications. “They’ve been very successful in the past promoting Jacksonville within the convention market. With this special outreach to leisure travelers, we can expect to draw even more visitors to Greater Jacksonville. This area has a great deal to offer.” Korb was recently named to the multicultural marketing subcommittee for The Jacksonville and the Beaches CVB.

The partnership between BroadBased Communications and the Convention and Visitors Bureau dates from 1998. “BroadBased has been producing our advertising and collateral materials for a few years now,” said Larry Walter, Director of Leisure and Multicultural Marketing for the Convention and Visitors Bureau. “It made sense for us to continue our successful working relationship on this project. We keep coming back to BroadBased because their work is consistently excellent and on time.”

The multicultural visitors campaign targeted households from a database of contacts who had previously expressed interest in visiting Jacksonville, Walter said. His group promotes a wide range of Jacksonville-based cultural events during the calendar year – the World of Nations Celebration, Kuumba Festival, Caribbean Carnival, Jacksonville Jazz Festival, and World Beat Music Fest, among others.

Communications Firm Helps Propel University of North Florida Capital Campaign

BroadBased Communications, Inc. was awarded the coveted University of North Florida capital campaign account in mid-2000. Within a few months, UNF launched its “Access to Excellence” campaign armed with a comprehensive promotional brochure and adjunct materials.

Competition for the account came from other local and regional advertising and public relations firms, but representatives of UNF ultimately chose BroadBased for the school's first-ever capital campaign. Communication experts at both UNF and BroadBased collaborated closely to produce the informational materials. The school has witnessed a positive first response to its three-year effort to raise $65 million, all for expansion in scholarships, programs, faculty and equipment.

“We are very gratified that UNF has had this success; they’re doing a wonderful job,” said Jan Korb, president and founder of BroadBased Communications. “This was a joint effort built around a solid communications plan – that's the way we like to work. UNF has much to offer the entire Northeast Florida community, and we're proud to be associated with the school.

"In a statement concerning the university's choice of BroadBased Communications, UNF's Vice President for Institutional Advancement Pierre Allaire said, “The service and attention to detail of their work was superb. One of the main factors in selecting BroadBased Communications was not only price but the quality of the publications they had done for other clients.”
